HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGEMENT
Derbyshire Decorators recognises the hazards involved with decoration activities and the risks our workforce and others are exposed to as a result of our work.
Our health and safety (H&S) management system provides us with the means to manage H&S throughout our operations in an efficient and effective way.
We accept our responsibilities for health and safety and are committed
to giving this equal importance with other business matters. Our primary
H&S objective is to prevent injuries and damage to health.
Our workforce undertakes regular H&S training as part of their career development and we provide the supervision and instruction required
on site to ensure our workers know how to work safely.
We are fully certified with the largest register of contractors and consultants. By registering with Constructionline, we are able to show our credentials to potential customers, with the added guarantee provided by this national database.
Our staff whose roles require them to use powered access have undergone training
with the IPAF, ensuring their own, other
staff’s and the public’s safety, and achieving their Powered Access Licence. This training is
certified by TÜV as conforming to ISO 18878.
Our health and safety training for mobile access towers is provided by PASMA - the industry standard scheme. This ensures each member of staff is confident working at height, knowing they and those around them are as safe as possible.
Our staff are fully trained in the recognition
of asbestos and have undergone courses
to ensure all health and safety standards
are adhered to. We work with Monitor
Environmental to ensure that vulnerable
sites are analysed for airborn dust and fibres.
Each member of our team has passed the CITB - ConstructionSkills Health, Safety and Environment Test, improving safety and
productivity on site, as well as raising
standards in a changing industry. Our
commitment to health and safety ensures
we are fully up to date with any changes in
testing or new information.
The Derbyshire Decorators team members are trained in the Ladder & Stepladder Course and the Ladder Inspection Course, ensuring that our staff are safe when working at height, as well as those working around them. These courses are fully compliant with all current legislation.
